Practical Information > Travelling to Nice

By plane

To reach the city center from any of the two terminals of Nice Côte d'Azur airport you can take tram line 2 (in the direction of Port Lympia). The tram stop is right outside the airport. See the section on public transportation for more information.

If you are heading to ibis Nice Centre Notre Dame or directly to the math department, you have to get off at the (underground) tram stop Jean Médecin (the hotel is ~10 min walk from there). There are plenty of restaurants, bars and a big supermarket in the area in case you want to have lunch / dinner or drink something, before heading to the hotel or the department.

By train

Nice Ville is the main train station of the city and all trains stop there. From this station you can walk a few minutes to the tram stop Gare Thiers, where you can take tram number 1 to go to the math department or continue your journey (the tram network covers a large part of the city). From Gare Thiers the hotel ibis Nice Centre Notre Dame is just round the corner.

If you are staying in the eastern part of Nice and your train stops at Nice Riquier, it might be easier to get off the train there.
